Carrot Khichdi for 7+ months babies

Khichdi is a complete wholesome food that is basically a mixture of dals/lentils,rice and vegetables of your choice.
It is a best lunch recipe for babies,with vital vitamins and nutrients.
So here I will share the carrot khichdi which is very tasty 😍


                                             

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 piece of carrot,chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of rice
  • 1 teaspoon of moog dal
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 fat garlic clove
  • A pinch of hing(Asafoetida)
  • 1 cup of water
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 drops of Ghee(optional)

Method:

  1. Wash the rice and dal,soak in water for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile,wash and chop the carrot into cubes.
  3. Add all the ingredients in the pressure cooker except salt and ghee,and cook it for 5 whistles in medium flame.
  4. Once the pressure is released,add salt and ghee,mash them completely.
  5. Add hot water,depending on your babies consistency.
  6. Feed the baby little warm.

Note

You can also use toor dal instead of moong dal.But I prefer moong dal,since it is easily digestible and has many nutrients,also it enhance the taste.
