Instant homemade cerelac with Poha(protein powder)- 7+ months

It's always quite confusing for new mother's about what to give for their dear ones when travelling.
This simple yet healthy recipe is not only a tasty dish but also works as travel food for babies.
Those moms who are not interested in packed instant food,can try this recipe and it tastes greatπŸ˜‹

Ingredients:

For poha cereal powder,
  • 1 cup poha/rice flakes(red poha)
  • half cup roasted gram (pottukadalai)
For poha cereal porridge,
  • 2 tablespoon of poha cereal powder
  • 1 cup of water
  • Panankarkandu or salt to taste
  • 1/4 spoon ghee

Method:

  1. Clean the poha to remove any husks.In a pan,fry the poha for 2 minutes or until little crisp.
  2. Transfer to plate and fry the roasted gram till little brown appears and cool the both.
  3. Now grind them into fine powder.
  4. You can seive it if needed.
  5. Store it in air tight box.

For preparing porridge,
  1. Heat a cup of water,then add 2 tablespoon of cereal powder.
  2. Once started to boil,keep in low flame and cook it till you get your required consistency.
  3. Finally add,Ghee and your favourite sweetener or salt.
For instant porridge,
Instead of cooking the porridge,just add hot water to the powder,mix well and close the container for 10 mins and serve

  • I prefer this recipe for breakfast or as evening snack.
  • Easy travel food to carry,just need hot water to prepare
