Protein rich Green gram rice for 7+ months baby

Green gram is rich in protein and it helps in healthy weight gain in babies.
If you are looking for recipe other than usual fruits and veggies for your babies,green gram is a good option and it is  also very healthy.
Green Gram doesn't cause constipation in babies.
Here I will share a simple recipe of green gram rice which will be very tasty and healthy for babies.And it is one of my baby's favourite 😊


                           

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of green gram
  • 2 tablespoon of rice
  • 1/4 spoon of turmeric powder
  • 1/4 spoon of cumin seeds
  • 1 fat garlic clove
  • A pinch of hing(asafoetida)
  • Salt to taste
  • one and half cup water 

Method:

  1. Wash the green gram and rice very well and soak for 15-20 mins.
  2. In a pressure cooker,add all ingredients listed except salt and cook for 6-7 whistles.
  3. Once done,you can either mash it with food masher or a mixer.
  4. Serve warm.

Note

  • Turmeric gives nice colour and also it acts as immunity booster.
  • Cumin seeds and garlic helps in digestion
  • I prefer giving this rice for lunch
  • Always try to feed the baby as soon as it is prepared.So the baby can have fresh food.
